Sonmarg is a hill station located in the Ganderbal district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The name Sonmarg means ‘Meadow of Gold’ and the place is known for its scenic beauty with lush green meadows, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks. It serves as a base for various trekking routes, and is also a gateway to the Ladakh region. It’s also quite popular for winter sports like skiing.

Day 9 : NUBRA VALLEY SIGHTSEEING & STAY
The Shyok River meets the Nubra River (or Siachan River) to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. The Shyok river is a tributary of the Indus river. The average altitude of the valley is more than 10,000 feet (3,000 m) above the sea level. The most common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La pass from Leh.
